Camping trip 1

Summer began right after the last day of school.  Olivia was tearful due to her last year at this school so we started summer off with a bang.  3 days camping with a school friends.
Jon brought his fishing rod, this is his new thing, and each of the girls tried too.

Even the poodle came on the trip and snuggles to keep warm.  It rained the first evening around 730 pm so we all went to bed early.  The next day was on and off again but turned out great, due to it poured after 9 pm.  We all stayed tried and slept well.
Jon testing scooter stuff before the girls think about doing it...
 Funny photo
Claire's mother backed the girls with a fun camping bag of cool goodies.

And of course lots of smores', they ate a whole bag of marshmallows.
What a great three day get away, relaxing run, and cool weather.

Odd things

This picture above has been in the works for almost a year.  Before springs break Jon and I finally agreed upon picture frame we both likes with the kitchen.  Then when mum was out here she helped me pick the clock hands.  Mum and I attempted to get this all done before Jon got home but did not work out.  Today after three hours working with Jon we finally got the clock all lined up and working great.  Lastly I need to order family pictures to hand inside and then paint a quote in the circle.  Yeah
So Olivia had a fever for three days and last Friday we took her to the doctors.  Doctor said she had Epstein Barr Virus and she might have mono.  We turned down the mono test and just assumed the worse.  After 6 days of 102.5 the fever finally broke free!!! yeah....She was fever free for 36 hours before returning back to school.  She had a great day at school today and came home with a paper set of lungs.  She is studying the lungs now in science.  What fun.  We did have her tested for mono on Tuesday and it came back clear, mono free.  Happy camper feeling better.

Painting with a Twist

Mum's Last Saturday in the springs I had to work and Jon just got home so I set up a Grandma/Granddaughter day.
Nana never told Olivia were they were going until they pulled up.
Olivia was thrilled.
They sat together and painted turtles going back into the water.
What a wonderful day together, hope the memories last forever.
Yea it was like pulling teeth to convince mum that she was going to paint with out numbers.
And see she did a great job with no numbers.

Friday Family night

Homestead Park
Every friday we try to do something as a family.
Even through Jon was still in California for training we still did our family time and mum filled in.
We walked 3.5 miles in the wood tree's near our house,
played on the bars where they ty up the horses,
and even had a little fun on the play ground.
On our way home we enjoyed Wendy's frosty.

Paint Mines

After dropping Olivia off at school mum and I went for a new adventure to the Paint Mines.
It was amazing 4 mile walk and climb through some wonderful color rocks.
Mum being a kid at heart, I think she jumped 6 inch's, LOL
Then on the way home she spotted a nest with somthing in it and we needed to go back and investigate what she saw.  Can you make out what is in the nest?  Yes Mother Owl with three baby Owlets, this was pretty cool thing to see since it was my first time.

Art Work and New hair duo

Olivia Aspen Tree picture above her head she did earlier in the year.  The school displayed it for Art Fair night.
And Punky's new Duo, his puddle hair cut.  He is a poodle so why not try the hair cut out.  LOL
I think he lost his pants!

Betsy Ross had an amazing and wonderful life story.  She was born in 1752. She had 1 brother and 7 sisters that intensely loved her. She loved school because she good at all the stuff involved with it.  She got married twice and had three children.  She past away in 1898, when she died she didn’t die poor she died proud.                                                Betsy Ross, who is the maker of our flag, was a very strong person.   Her loving mother taught her to sew at the age of 5 years old, and she loved it automatically.  There was a sewing contest at the fair, in Philadelphia.  In her project she had stars but the six pointed stars never looked right.  Her mother taught her how to make 5 pointed stars.   When she grew up, she started a sewing shop sense she loved to sew.  George Washington came to her shop and kindly requested her to make the American flag.  On the picture they had 6 pointed stars then she showed him the 5 pointed stars.  He liked her idea so he decided to change it.  She made the American flag and became famous.
Betsy Ross had very strong character traits. She had a lot of perseverance. She never gave up, she thoroughly worked hard and did not complain.  She was a hard worker. She worked hard and did her best, because she new it would pay off. Betsy Ross had many others such as courage, love, faith, and grace.                                                                     Betsy Ross was a wonderful person who made great contributions to our country. She worked intensely and let nothing distract her.  She did her best and succeeded in many things.  Betsy Ross brightly preformed great strength, she was brave and never gave up.

Update on Cabo

While in Cabo, Jonathan and Kristen took us snorkeling.  They took amazing video and I was able to get a picture of Olivia First time Snorkeling.  She was a little scared but Kristen was there to talk her through it with great patience.  Thank you Kristen!

Jon's Birthday celebration

Jon's birthday os over spring break so I decided to celebrate it before our trip out of the country and after.  He opened his presents the night before leaving and took him out to his favorite dinner, Sushi.
Olivia gave him trekking poles for hiking and I got him a football jersey.
While in Cabo, my parents got a sunset dinner cruise for all 5 of us.  We ate, drank and danced the night away.  We sang him happy birthday and he got birthday spanks from most.
When we got home I bought red velvet cupcakes with trick candles.  We sang again and he blow out the candles.  He has had two weeks of birthday fun.  Happy 48th Birthday.

St. Patrick's Day

I had to work this year on St. Patrick's day so green cookies were made at the fire house and then delivered while no body was home.  Make the house look like a leaparcon came in and made cookies but he was too small to clean up all the mess.  He even kissed the milk green in the frig.
Olivia thought it was cute, I think she is starting to catch on there is no fairy tale people.  lol
